Ivy League+ Tour: Day 9 / Visiting Baltimore and Washington DC

Untitled-16

A visit to the While house and the US Capital

Once you finish breakfast, you will proceed to the city of Baltimore. Founded as a port and shipbuilding town, manufacturing has always played a big role here. However, the city’s focal point for tourism is the world famous Inner Harbor, where we will have our lunch break. Baltimore is also the birthplace of the “Star Spangled Banner” and the guardian against the British attack during the War of 1812.  From Baltimore, we will head back to Washington DC where you will have time to explore the various buildings that comprise the Smithsonian Institute.  You will see the U.S. Capitol, home to the Congress with its north (Senate) and south (House) wings.  You will also have the chance to see the neo-classical sandstone White House which sits at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in addition to the many memorials which our nation’s capital is home to.  After your dinner break, you will return to your accommodations for the night
